For sometime I have had an unstable DSL line with periods of drop out.
Telfort proposed sending a new modem with an extension of my contract.
The Experia Box v8 VDSL replaced the ZyXEL P-2602HW-D3A ADSL2PLUS.
After several attempts with help from Telfort Installation adviser the new modem would not come on line.
They contacted KPN who sent a text message that they had fixed the problem but the Experia still does not come on line.
I sent the info of the status of both modems by email to klanten service but they do not seem to understand the problem.
Connection is ISRA pair Red/Blue (1A/1B)

Question:
1. What should I do with the new modem which does not work - return it?
2. How can I get a KPN engineer to check the line to my ISRA point?

BTW - I live on a farm which is <100m from the road.

Hello Jim,

It looks like that the experiabox have a little issues on the inside. A
few years ago i had something like you discribed above. i remember that it was something with the outgoing values to Phones and Computers. The only way to fix this issue is to return the modem and apply for a new one.

it should be free, cause you hire the modem from the isp.

Thankyou Shaady. I am hoping that the moderator will suggest what I can do to solve the unstable DSL and how I can return the Experia Box.

They told me when they supplied the modem I had to return the original or they would charge me!!! Of course I cannot return it or I will have no telephone or internet at all!

I hope I get some help soon or I will have to change my ISP!

Could you try and connect the new modem again? The old one won't work on the new line type.

Can I call you later to see if it's working?

Hi Henk,
Since I connected the EXPERIA BOX I have had 3 DSL drop outs in < 3 hours.
This is similar to the orevious situation with the ZyXEL.

Jim

I didn't get a call from you, no matter.

My modem has been running ~5 days without crash.
This appears to be a great improvement:-

Current Time: 04.09.2013 (Wed) - 15:59:16
System uptime:4 days 21:03:31
INTERNET
ADSL:  CONNECTED
Mode:  G.992.5 (ADSL2+)
Download:  4472 Kbps.
Upload:  288 Kbps.

Should I now return the old ZyXEL modem?
How?
Adress?
Information to be included?
